Health & Safety Statement of Intent
DBS is committed to providing and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, clients, and visitors. Our goal is zero incidents on every project, and we achieve this by embedding safety into every stage of our operations — from planning to completion.
Employers’ Duties – Leading by Example
We believe that responsibility for health and safety starts at the top. Our directors and managers lead by example, setting high standards and ensuring our workforce has the support, resources, and guidance they need to work safely at all times.

Strong communication is central to our safety culture. We actively involve our teams in the development and implementation of health and safety practices, encouraging open dialogue and feedback. By working together, we build awareness, accountability, and a shared commitment to keeping everyone safe.
Policies & Procedures
DBS operates under clear, robust health and safety policies and procedures that comply with all relevant legislation. These are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect best practice and industry standards, ensuring that safety remains consistent and effective across all sites and projects.
Training & Development
We invest heavily in training to maintain a skilled and safety-conscious workforce. Our directors, managers, supervisors, and operatives undertake CITB-accredited training, ensuring competence at every level of the business. From leadership training to site-based skills, we provide our people with the knowledge and confidence to work safely and effectively.
Partnership with SHE Managment
Safety drives everything we do. To maintain our high standards, DBS partners with SHE Management, a local safety specialist with over two decades of experience. Our health and safety compliance is overseen by Lead Adviser and DBS 'Competent Person' Gary Beckley, alongside Advisor Richard Coyle. Through regular site visits and unlimited Safety, Health, and Environmental consultation, they keep our teams safe and our projects fully compliant.
